Benefit: flexible and readily available
Tables can be structured freely, formulas are familiar and existing parts lists can be reused directly. That is practical for individual calculations.
Limitation: multiple file and price versions
Once files are copied, emailed or saved locally, it becomes difficult to tell which version is current. Catalogue prices are often maintained in several places too.
Limitation: internal and external views
Purchase prices, margins and internal notes must be kept separate from the customer document. In a freely structured spreadsheet, this depends heavily on the template.
Keep using Excel as an input source
CELVENO can analyse Excel parts lists and item data as a starting point. Recognised items are then reviewed and brought into a central quoting process.
